God Never Disappoints
Life can be disappointing. Sometimes we become disappointed in ourselves. Sometimes we become disappointed in others. Sometimes the circumstances in which we find ourselves cause us to be disappointed. When disappointment comes, life seems heavy.
But do not despair. There is hope. There is a ray of sunshine. God never disappoints. It is not life under the sun that we worship. It is God. We can always depend on God. He will complete what He started (Phil.1:6). He cares.
We know God cares because He did not spare His own Son. If God willingly gave the greatest gift, will He fail to give us lesser gifts? If He provided for our greatest need, will He withhold our lesser needs? Rest assured, God cares for the sparrow. He cares for the lilies of the field. As our Father, He will not give us a stone or serpent. He will supply what we need (Phil. 4:19). He assures us He hears our prayers. He is our ally.
Further, God will not disappoint. He will fulfill what He has promised. He promised the Savior seven hundred and fifty years before He was born of a virgin. He was true to His promise. He fulfilled what He prophesied about the risen Savior. He kept His word. He promised to never again destroy the earth by water. He has kept His promise. What is there God has ever promised that He has not fulfilled? Therefore, when He promises to save us, will He renege? We can be confident that He will keep His word.
God is not like man. We may intend to keep what we promise, but fail. We may have the best of intentions, but fail. Not God. God never disappoints. Rejoice! Lift up your head. God reigns. He loves us. He has made provision to save us. We must not let our disappointment in others cause us to doubt God.
