His Grace Reaches Me

“The grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people.” – Titus 2:11

Paul reminded Titus that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Alas, not all will be saved.  When one chooses to reject God’s grace, one forfeits the beautiful relationship and bountiful blessings offered by the Creator.

God has so loved us as to make a way for us to return to Him. The New Testament writers utilized the word grace to describe God’s actions toward mankind borne out of His intense love for us.  Grace, defined as God’s favor which we do not deserve, must be appropriated through an active faith (Romans 4:1-8).

Paul wrote that God’s grace had indeed been manifested to all men through the preaching of the gospel of Christ (Titus 1:3). Luke recorded Paul as saying that he testified to the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24). We can know for sure that where the gospel has gone, so too has gone the grace of God. The grace of God has forever been manifested for all at Calvary, yet the crucifixion will do no good to the one who rejects the gospel of grace and has no faith in the crucified One (John 8:24).

God’s grace reaches to all who will gladly receive His word and be obedient to it (Acts 2:38-41).  The grace of God a clear flowing fountain of pure, and refreshing water that earnestly bids all to come and drink freely (Revelation 22:17).

Let God’s grace reach you, wash you, satisfy you.

Deeper than the ocean and wider than the sea,

Is the grace of the Savior for sinners like me;

Sent from the Father, and it thrills my soul,

Just to feel and to know,

That His blood makes me whole.

His grace reaches me,

yes, His grace reaches me,

And ’twill last thru eternity;

Now I’m under His control

and I’m happy in my soul,

Just to know that His grace reaches me.
